How is Fast Five a prequel?
I know everybody says Fast Five is a prequel to Tokyo Drift. How do you explain that there are no cars newer than 2006 or 2007 in Tokyo Drift but there are brand new 2011 Chargers in Fast Five? How does Han die in a wreck and drive a car that isn't released until after his death?

I think you misunderstood something. I've never heard that before. And it is in no way shape or form a prequel.
In the movie Tokyo Drift the cars they use are as you say not much newer 06 or 07 but in the Drifting scene, they use cars from all generations but the most popular are from the late 80's to early 90's save the new Nissan GT-R . This can be explained on how it works in the whole timeline thing, they also never actually mention dates or years in the movies following up to Fast Five.
Well hollywood always make these mistakes but... remember Most writer can put the story anywhere ... it could of happened during Tokyo Drift ... Han simply when on a holiday to assist during the whole tokyo Drift movie
Now you're just being way too technical. What if they made the first F&F in the 1800s. What, they're supposed to use all the oldest stuff? No, they're gonna use the shiny, new toy.
Its maximum acceptable in case you watch the faster videos contained in the sequence, because there is extremely a narrative in the back of it. in case you in straight forward words watch the fifth one, then you honestly received't understand the underlying tale.
Just go along with it and enjoy the movies. Don't ask questions.
Thats a good question.
but i dont think you meant to be thinking so deep about fast and furious.
just enjoy it for what it is.
why is fast 5 a movie? they should have stopped several movies back.
