What makes the Queens think they should retire his jersey when he obviously played the longest time & the best with the Lakers?
Not that the Lakers should retire his jersey because he's a bum, but I'm just saying.

He's the King of Flops.
He was fundamental to the Kings success in the early 00's. They should have won the championship in 2002 but were completely screwed over by the refs in favor of the Lakers in what has to be the greatest disgrace in NBA history.
His stats don't necessarily look too impressive but this stat does shed some light on things:
He is one of only 3 players in NBA history to record 13,000 points, 9,000 rebounds, 3,000 assists and 1,500 blocked shots..... The other 2 being Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Hakeem Olajuwon. That's a fairly elite group to be a part of...
Also, it was Vlade and Drazen Petrovic that truly opened the doors for European players in the NBA.
He is a legend in his own right.
LOL, he play great with the Kings till the refs stole there chance at the title. Remeber that series?......One of the worst moments in history of sports and Kobe was the beneficiary!
Because he was part of the Kings' success earlier this decade.
