How do I become a primary school teacher?

Or teaching assistant? But mainly asking about a primary school teacher.

I'm not entirely sure what I want to do with my life yet so I'm thinking about lots of careers but yeah, I'm taking Child Development in my GCSE's (amongst a lot of other things) and I'm doing two weeks work experience with reception and nursery in a school in July so just wondering if I'd have to go to university because I don't really want to, I'm definitely going to sixth form so I'll be leaving that when I'm 18 (I'm 16 this year) and I'm thinking about collage but not uni. Also, what kind of grades do I need etc. Thanks :)

  • yes you need to go to university for 4 years to become a teacher. you will need a C+ in maths and english for GCSEs, then enough AS and A levels to get into university.

to become a teaching assistant you don't need to go to university, but they pay much much less money than to teachers.

  • you're able to do a typical universal %.. A secondary %. in technological expertise somewhat does not be a lot help - you does not get the grounding you like in to coach the great variety of subjects, or any adventure of coaching little ones of the nicely suited age. in case you fairly do no longer fancy a typical %., you will possibly no longer love coaching the great curriculum at universal point - per possibility you're able to evaluate secondary coaching. One determination is to coach at secondary point and then attempt to discover a role at a center or Prep college, which might enable you to artwork with extremely youthful little ones (greater or less 8-13 3 hundred and sixty 5 days olds). no longer many districts have center faculties nevertheless, so which you will have very constrained ideas in case you had to artwork interior the state sector.
