1991 Dodge Dakota Exaust?
Got a 5.2 V8 with stock exaust on it. I want to do something muffler wise, but im not sure. Im pretty much broke so heres my options.
1. Glasspack
or
2. Cut muffler off and run just the cat and pipe
for #2 is that what open exaust is? and does it hurt gas mileage or the truck in anyway?
and its a single that sticks out the side. stock is gay. wish it had dual.

leave the cat on it and change the muffler and cut the pipe off just after the muffler and it will sound pretty good,it will be a lot louder,you cant run open exhaust on it though,that's running without nothing on it,the shorter the pipe is after the muffler the louder it will be ,good luck.
I have an 04 F150 with a 4.6 Liter V8 and I cut the muffler off and put a turn down tip on it. It sounds really good..the idle isn't too loud but you can hear it when you accelerate. Going down the highway I have less drone than I did with my Flowmaster 40 series.
cut the cat out replace it with a straight pipe cut the muffler out throw on a glass pack with a turn down pipe
should sound awsome
