Mercedes 190E Cosworth?
I was looking at the old 80s Mercedes 190E 16v Cosworth, and noticed that the US version has less horsepower than the European one, 167 vs 185. If you owned a US spec Cosworth, how can you tune it to make it the same as European ones? I wouldn't want to make it any faster than that, I would just want it brought back to original European tuning the way it was meant to be. Is this as simple as some minor engine tuning and new exhaust? Thanks!

the american version was lower power due to em mission laws imposed on european cars by the american government.
I do not think you could get it up to American standards let alone up to european with an old engine.
poor quality gas is the problem you can fit european pistons but you will get pinging and overheating, fitting a supercharger would be the most direct way to go but not on an engine that age without a rebuild but either way you would need to put anti-knock additives in the gas
