I wanted to get some electric yellow cichlids but I've heard that they grow from 3.5-5 inches big. What is the actual adult size of this species?

don't listen to the person who said they need 4 gallons of water, totally not true. they need at least 25 gallons.
About 4 inches. Males a bit bigger. They require 20 gallons minimum
They can get up to 4 inches long so make sure you have at least 4 gallons of water(preferably 8 as they can get territorial and aggresive) per yellow.
