Why does pressure decrease when tempurature goes down?
im doing an online lab for chemistry at phet.colorado.edu/simulations
its under heat and thermo and its called gas properties and all the questions are like add heat and what happens to teh pressure and why and i the pressure goes up but i dont know why!
Update:oh and some of the questions say increase volume what happens to pressure etc.

Pressure decreases when there is a decrease in temperature. This occurs because when temperature decreases, the atoms of the object that is subject to the temperature decrease increase. Now, when atoms slow down there is more pressure or force applied to all objects that it acts upon. Like the weather system faster air = faster atoms = lower pressure. SO adding heat will decrease pressure. btw the question is wrong adding heat does *not* increase pressure it decreases pressure.Or something like that...
its so simple i m a student of pre-medical and in chem lab we use to do such practicles
when tempurature increases the molecules of gas collide more so it increases the volume and thus the pressure increases
and when tempurature is low the molecules of gas come closer to each other and thus decreasing pressure
I guess its because as the temperature goes down, molecules are moving slower, causing them to collide less often and therefore create less pressure.
because the stronger the pressure, the weaker temperature
when heat rises, atoms move faster
and need more room thus causing pressure
hope this helps
