Can we trade accents?

Thank you.

Update:

I have a standard American accent. So blah...

  • I would happily trade my English accent for an American one :)

  • I was born and raised in Centralia Illinois USA, near St. Louis Missouri. This is a Midlands accent. It the same one you hear on American television. I now live in Austin Texas USA, but have not acquired this accent, except some of the phrases and verbal habits, like "you'all", a word that is really used here. It means the plural of you. So when you talk to several people, you would use this word.

Used to see western style hats, the Stetsons, but not for a long time anymore. People, the guys, wear baseball hats, if they wear a hat at all.

  • You can't "trade" accents but if you stay in a country a long time you will naturally learn the country accent.

  • You don't want my accent. I have a Manchester/ Wigan/ Bacup/ Rochdale accent. I don't sound nothin like the posh or cockney accents you hear on American TV.

Seriously, one of my pals from the US didn't believe I was a Brit at first coz I don't talk posh.

  • No, I like my Derbyshire/South Yorkshire accent :P you didn't even tell me what accent you have!

  • Yeah have mine :) I hate my accent, It doesn't suit me at all.Everyone says I sound 'posh' and constantly jokingly teases me ;(

  • No thanks............I am happy with my accent, so you can keep yours............ thanks for the offer though!
