AKC names usually have the breeder/kennel/line name first (like, "Rockytop's Sundance Kid" or "Janmar's Rhett Butler" for example) so you'd put that first, and they have at least two parts after that usually, like in the examples. However, the AKC 'formal' name as it is known, does not have to be, and usually isn't, what the dog is called (Rockytop's Sundance Kid, Westminster Best in Show 2006, is called Rufus).
The only thing I would say is, if you will be showing him, please take the time to think of a formal name that, even though you might not use it at home, you are going to hear it over and over and over again so make it something you like-a lot.
