"Brand Name" Funeral Home?

Just wondering what your thoughts about why there are no "brand name" or "corporate" funeral homes? They seem to all be own/operated by local business people (mom and pop stores).

According to the National Funeral Director's Association, of the 21,528 funeral homes in America, 89 percent are privately owned.

    The following funeral homes are chains:

    1) Dead Good Funeral Directors

    2) 2nd Hand Pace Makers @ Half Price Funeral Homes

    3) Down and Out

    I suggest you go google your question. In some cities that appear to have 50 funeral homes, 90% of the funerals are handled by 4 chains. The lack of competition is why funerals have doubled in price in recent years.
