Judging the genre of a bad by a single lyric is just ignorant. The meaning of the song can be interpreted in many ways, personally I think it's about religion. And no, they're not Christian, however said that. Musically their genre is debatable but they're probably along the lines of alternative of progressive metal. NOT emo by any means.
