Wife is pre-diabetic...?

My wife is pre-diabetic, it runs in her family and her blood sugar (and pressure) is way high, largely due to stressors in her life (including me)

What are some things I can do to be supportive?

She's doin everything she can, lost 10 pounds recently, on a biguanide now, Metformin I think, both should help.

I'm a vitamin geek so I wanna blurt the wonders of B5, of AMPK-agonists, problems of B2/3,

But I probably should focus on more common things like not saying "Hey ya want ice cream too?" (duh!)

Anyway, any advice much appreciated.

  • ;-'{ I'm sorry to know of this !!! Uh`m`m m: First of all to try not having this also be a further complications to your & or her problems.,. Try to help keeping the blood pressure stable or down first by remaining calm !?! Another thing that I think might help in this is if a simple/ proper diet is put to good such as drinking MOSTLY WATER & 100% juices !! eating more fruits & veggies.. Walking as`,much as you are able !?! Do'nt overdue a thing !!.Meditate/pray daily !! & just trying to obsorb the un`mistakable whole-hearted love that mostly FAMILY would display !!& take pride & joy in the experience !!<<G/L>>!!! rRr

  • Exercise is most important with insulin resistance. Offer to go for a walk with her. If she is out of shape and not used to walking then take it slow. Telling her that she is doing good in this area and that will keep her motivation up. Emotional support is just as important as the other stuff, like walking and cutting back on junk food.
