macbook pro airport problem?

ok so i get a new macbook pro today. it was an older version like 2008-2009 and i just set it up and turned airport off for a sec and now i cant turn airport back ok. please help i really want to connect to my wifi. my mac is running 1.6

    Try going into the System preferences and press Network .. see is the card is disable ..
