How do i back up an ipod's contents to a new computer?

I recently got a new computer and downloaded itunes on it and i need to know how i would take all of my contents form my ipod and put them on my new comuter,

when i connect my ipod to my new computer it says "the device is synced to another itunes library. An ipod can only have one sync library"

Pretty much all i need to do is get all the music, games, videos and movies from my ipod to my new computer, How would i do that?

  • It won't be a problem if you use AVCWare iPod to iPod/Computer/iTunes Transfer.

It automatically transfers your iPod and iPhone music, video, playlist, photos to computer and iTunes. Backup all your music and video in a couple of clicks. Really makes music and videos sharing pretty simple and enjoyable. Wish this can help and good luck.

I think its step by step guide is most helpful.

  • I did this last week. Apple are very big on songs not being shared so ipod content is like hidden on your pc to stop people sharing the content of their ipod.

There's software all over the internet but after trying loads of them none turned out to be free. In the end I followed this tutorial which worked really well http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CLZhdEiqwp8. It didn't copy my apps to itunes but they stayed on my ipod, even after I synced with itunes.

    Good luck!!

*i should just add it copied all 1300+ songs but didnt preserve the playlists. Maybe you should keep a note of your playlists before syncing, as once you sync the ipod will have exactly the same content as itunes and overwrites anything that is on the ipod not itunes.
