It is too costly to convert it, so just go out and buy one that already runs on natural gas. That's what I did. Got a Ford F-150 pickup and a Ford Crown Vic that both run on natural gas, and they're great! Check eBay and Craigslist for "cng" or "natural gas", and see what comes up. If you're lucky enough to live in Utah or Oklahoma, you'll love the price, too - less than a dollar a gallon to fill up, plus it's way cleaner for the environment, too. Go for it and enjoy driving around using no gasoline at all, ever!
google it. The system will cost $12,000 and you will still get 12.5 miles per gallon. The average price of CNG is $2.50 per gallon of equivalent gasoline. So you will save $1.30/gallon. In 100,000 miles you will burn 8000 gallons of fuel, either one. so with CNG, that's $20,000. With gasoline $30,400. It cost you 10,400 more to burn gasoline, BUT WAIT, you spent $12,000 converting and and and, you will still burn gasoline even though you converted to CNG because unless you buy the $3000 home fill system and YOU NEVER EVER go more that 200 miles between stations (which mean any trip to Disneyland is out).
you are going to need some high pressure tanks, much like oxygen tanks. you need a regulator, fuel lines, a propane carburetter, and some time to make the conversion. understand however that natural gas, while cleaner burning than gasoline, will net you LESS miles per gallon than gasoline will.
Contact a Natural gas company like Pargas who sells just such a thing for vehicles, they also do Propane which is very similar.
