I've never seen proof that magic really works, and neither has anyone else. But witches are real for sure, because they say they are. Witches are just as real as Christians, Hindus, Muslims or any other religion or cult. Not because their magic (they like to call it praying, but same thing) works, but because it's what they believe.
I dated a few self-proclaimed witches, even fell in love with a couple of them, so I know for sure they exist. I've had sex with both real and imagined people, so I know the difference. If someone says they're a Wiccan or ritual witch, they are. It's just like when someone says they're a Buddhist or a Pastafarian, because people are allowed to be whatever religion they want in the civilized world.
Just don't ask them (any of them) to prove that their magic is real, because they can't. It's not a fair question, because nobody can answer it with proof. You can't prove the stories about Jesus, I can't prove that global warming is directly related to the number of divine pirates in the world, your sister can't prove that Mohammed supported suicide bombings, and none of us can prove that we're just monkeys who learned how to use power tools.
I'm a hobby magician, and it is NOT REAL MAGIC, but tricks, sleight of hand, gimmicks, etc.Look up on line Penquin Magic.com, and see them demonstrated on film.
There is no conclusive evidence of magic. 'White magic witches' are individuals that claim to practice magic, but this is utter nonsense. All those individuals do is make up rhymes, spells, words, and chants and try their best to fool naive people in thinking they are sorcerers with 'gifts.'
Witches exist, magic not so much. You should ask her to explain what she actually means and you might learn it's not what you think. I knew several witches and it's more of a philosophy/religion than what you see on tv.

No and yes, in that exact order.

They can call themselves what they want...it doesn't mean it's true.
