How do I transfer a movie to my computer?

I want to make a parody of the movie The Fantastic 4. I have the movie on DVD. Is there anyway I can put the movie in the disc drive of my computer, and turn it into a document on my computer?

For example, I put the disc in, and then name it Fantastic Four under my documents. Is It possible to do that? and If so, How do I do it?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

    You need to do something called Ripping.

    so you need a program to Rip the Film off the dvd and store it on the pc as a file.

    sounds easy doesnt it.

    Try Dvd Shrink.

    This will allow you to rip the film off the dvd and store it in a folder on the pc
