The best way to prevent a cramp is to stretch before an activity and make sure that you have plenty of fluids in your system. Gatorade or water will help you if you have a lot before hand. Treating a cramp for me has always been to stretch the problem area and knead the area with a fist as well. If it's the other type of cramp you're trying to prevent, I can't help ya out there. Not too likely, but check with your Doctor to see if you are taking any prescribed medications that might have as a side effect.....leg cramps.
