If I profess to a contemplative order at age 50?

after living as a prodigal, do I deserve forgiveness from a) God, b) my family and friends, and c) the contemplative order of said vows?

Update:

If I profess, to the Glory of God, through faith in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, wouldn't I be saved, assuming only my intention to be forgiven, isn't that the acceptance of terms such as 'deservedness', to allow a personal God into my heart, here on this earthly plane of life? Is a just God going to analyze the message and/or kill the messenger? It's His Will and His Word we ultimately save, by being saved.

  • Regardless of the intention, even if it is only to be forgiven, opening your heart to God is your salvation.

  • Profession of vows does not put you in a position to "deserve" anything. Forgiveness must be asked for and freely given. So, if you are sorry and you ask God, your family and the order for forgiveness, they may, or may not, forgive you.

  • I guess this is something you can contemplate.
