  • Open your image. Then click on Adjustment-> Posterize. Click Save as

Go back to your history palette to the OPEN stage

Once again go back to Adjustmeny->Posterize, then go to EDIT-> Fade Posterize and adjust image.

Again go to Save as and so save the second image.

You can do this as often as you like, Just keep to Save as to have multiple adjusted images

Then open a new blank canvas. Go to EDIT-> FILL and pick a colour for the background. Fill it with the desired colour.

It is then a simple matter to either drag the previously manipulated images onto the new blank canvas and resize to suit. (You could also copy and paste these.)

If Posterize doesn't quite do the job, go to FILTERS and try out various filters. Remember once you apply a filter you can always go to EDIT-> Fade filter etc.

    Have fun.

  • No, Betsy was wrong, you use the Cutout filter. Filters > Artistic > Cutout.

Make a layer that's a red rectangle, then open the photo in a new layer. Make three copies of the photo layer. For each copy of the photo layer use the Cutout filter in increasingly stronger increments. Then, shrink all of them down and put them one next to each other to make it look like a sequence in front of the red rectangle layer, there you have it!

  • the "posterize" tool was used. click on "image" then "adjustments" then "posterize" and you can put in different numbers to get the different images.

I'm assuming you're talking about the four images at the top on the dark red background

  • Let's keep it simple;

    Click on:

    >Filter

    >Artistic

    >Cutout

    Adjustments:

    >Levels

    >Simplicity

    >Fidelity

Just play with these until you get what you like. Hope this helps.
