What does trade diasporas mean?
I am trying to write a paper on World History and I am having trouble exactly understanding what the term trade diasporas means. The question I am having to answer is "Do you think that the creation of networks of global commodity exchange transformed how these trade diasporas operated?" Now I feel like if I had a better understanding of this term, that I would be able understand the question. So can somebody please help. Thanks.

It basically means the people using trade routes.
Trade diasporas are communities of merchants living within an alien population. These communities evolved along long-distance trade routes because people of different languages and customs need mediators to negotiate transactions across cultural barriers.
You question seems to indicate you think this is somehow wrong. You obviously don't have a clue about what motivates Canadians. We are very proud of being Canadian, however we temper that with a curiosity about the world around us. We also don't particularly appreciate discriminatory ideas, such as the ones you slyly spout about other nationalities. All are welcome here - just park your hatred at the border.
