  • Yes they do...tomaoes are actually fruit.

  • Yes. So do cayenne peppers, Jerusalem artichokes and lettuce. Be sure you have an allergy and not just an intolerance. If it is an intolerance, you may be able to do something about it.

Do an internet search on "citric acid allergy intolerance" and look for more information. There are lots of lists out there of the foods that naturally contain citric acid, as well as ones that have citric acid commonly added.

This is a common ingredient and this must be hard for you!

  • Tomatoes aren't a citrus fruit. Only citrus fruits contain citric acid.

Tomatoes do contain ascorbic acid (some varieties contain more than others), as well as smaller amounts of other acids such as nicotine acid, folic acid, and pantothenic acids.

  • tomatoes,like all citrus fruits,contain citric acid

  • Some canned tomatos have read the labels Fresh tomatos no.

  • tomatoes dosen't contain citric acid.the major fruits dt contains that is oranges, lemon, infact citrus family. dt why it's called citric acid.

  • Yes. However, I think no for Roma tomatoes.
