Do Americans eat mince pies at Christmas time?

Or is it just a British thing?

  • "what's a mince pie?"

that's probably the general reaction you'll get from americans.

as far as i know, some if us eat them, most don't (including me)

  • I think for the most part Americans fo not eat mince pies. Some may but I don't feel we have allot of "traditional" English food.

  • i think it is just a british and scottish thing. although some americans do eat mince pies.

i love mince pies i remember eating about two boxes from marks and spencers!

  • Some folks do like mince pie... we like them just fine and usually make them for the holidays.

But you'll find a many few who don't even know what a pie is. If it didn't come from the convenience store, it doesn't exist.

  • My grandma made one once, but that's the only time I've noted anyone having one for Christmas. It's not a tradition, but I'm sure some families do. I don't have any ancestors from England, so I assume that's why we don't have it.

  • I don't. I don't like mince pie.

  • As far as I know not at all. Neither do we eat fruit cake or pudding

  • noooo, never even heard of that.

  • yes.

    A lot of us do.
