I don't think that there is a way to actually prevent cancer. There are many causes of cancer, including an hereditary disposition to it nd you can't do much about that, except some women have their breasts and reproductive system removed at an early age if their mother and others in the family contracted breasts or ovarian cancer.
There are known carcinogens and you can find these listed on the Web. Of course, about the worst is tobacco as cigarettes/cigars/pipe/chewing and snuff. Dope is another, causing mouth, throat, lung and other cancers. Theses are the most common cancers, mostly caused by smoking tobacco & dope.
You can help towards preventing cancer in your body by not smoking, by drinking alcohol in SMALL quantities, by eating as few processed foods as possible and by eating lots of fresh vegetables, particularly green leafy varieties and veg that have carotene. Tomatoes are great anti-oxidants.
Your doctor or pharmacist would be able to help you.
Basically, commonsense prevails. If you keep healthy, eat properly, don't smoke, don't drink too much alcohol (can cause mouth and throat and stomach and liver and bowel cancer) you can give yourself a fighting chance .
To avoid, and even prevent skin cancer (basal cells are usually harmless, melanoma kills) stay out of the sun, or if you're going into the sun for more than 30 minutes, wear sunscreen that is 40 spf or above.
Other cancers just come randomly, to random people. There isn't a way to get rid of it, or prevent it. The most "preventable" is skin cancer, but even people with sensitive skin such as red heads (who often have fair skin) get it easily.
No one knows what causes cancer . . if we did than it could be prevented. No one knows why a person who has never smoked in their life can still get lung cancer . .and no one knows why someone who may have smoked their entire life might never even get cancer. No one knows why childhood cancers are entirely different than older adult type cancers. No one knows why one person exposed to a 'risk' for cancer will never develop it while someone else might.
There is no known way to prevent cancer . . there are ways that people believe will cut down the risk of developing it for only one type of cancer. There are over 200 different types of cancer and just as many subtypes . . out of all those cancers only a few of the risks are 'known' . . smoking can place you at a higher risk for lung cancer than not smoking . . however not smoking will not prevent you from getting any of the other 199 types of cancer.
So, what can you do . . become aware of the types of cancer more likely to occur in your specific age group . . cancer is often age specific. Stay healthy as possible . . in order to fight cancer should you ever develop it . . cut down on the known risks such as smoking, drinking, chemicals . . eat healthy, exercise, and go about the business of living.

There's really no way to prevent cancer it's just caused by a mutation in your cells.
Pesticides-can also cause lymphoma & leukemia
Tobacco smoke: A well-known carcinogen that can harm you even if you don't smoke but are simply exposed to it.
Toronto Smog: A well-known fact that the air we breathed has numerous carcinogens.
There is no way to prevent cancer.
There are some simple ways to avoid it, however.
