  This link is for Avast Home Edition anti-virus,it has a boot scan option I have not seen in any other anti-virus I have used.This is free.

  Microsfot Security Essentials - For Viruses.

  Super Anti Spyware - For spyware

  http://www.superantispyware.com/

  MalwareBytes - Another for spyware.

  http://www.malwarebytes.org/

  Use all 3. Only have one Anti Virus program at a time, any more and they clash.

  2 Spyware programs will do the trick aswell.
