Its fairly easy to enter tournaments, so who exactly classifies you as a pro?
In tennis its fairly easy to enter into a pro tournament like Futures events. Mainly its just a matter of winning in them that seperates the competition. So what exactly would you consider a pro? I mean someone that keeps losing in these tournaments and someone that always wins can both consider themselves pros right?

A pro is basically any player that is making a living off tennis tournaments and endorsements. Even if your win/loss record is staggering in either direction it basically comes down to the income you are making. Also entering tournaments are fairly expensive unless you play a qualifier or you are a top seed, the sheer cost of entering atp/wta tournys effectivly weeds out the less serious players
you enter ATP recognised tournaments through qualifiers and depending on how well you do, you get ATP points. a professional tennis player is a player who is sponsored and plays ATP/WTA events.
anyone who can achieve a sufficient amount of ATP points. that's what differentiates 6.0 from 7.0 players. your a world class players when your winning tournaments for as your main source of income.
