OBAMA supporters...how do you respond...?

When debating with McCain supporters, how do you come back to the whole "he doesn't have enough experience to be president, Palin is only VP" thing? I know he doesn't *have* a lot of experience, but what's a good way to respond?

  • I usually respond by explaining that Obama has a B.A. in Political Science with specialization in international relations from Columbia University, where his thesis topic was Soviet nuclear disarmament and a Law Degree from Harvard Law School where he graduated magna *** laude with Juris Doctorate (not to mention being President of the Harvard Law Review), and served 8 years in the Illinois State Senate (the 5th most populated state) and almost 4 years in the United States Senate.

He is as qualified as W, Clinton, Reagan, Carter, etc.

McCain has a degree from US Naval Academy (as a legacy).

And McCain is a career government employee. Yes his militarys service is admirable, but just being in the military does not make you qualified to be president. MANY people served in the military that I KNOW I wouldnt want to be president.

  • obama has lots of experience in state government. since states get money from feds, who attach strings like requiring states to pass legislation feds want, i'm sure that has given o a lot of insight into how fed works. mccain's experience is decades as a senator in washington, the very place he berates and says he wants to change. his record indicates he supported many of the evils that are costing us all so dearly. so mccain's experience is a negative in my book. and the pow stuff that he alludes to so often? give me a break. all the folks at gitmo should run for pres if that experience qualifies a person. but most of what i think makes obama the better candidate is that he is way smarter than mccain, works harder, studies issues more deeply, etc. etc. mccain appears to be losing his faculties, such as they ever were. he was at the bottom of his class in college, obama was president of law review at yale. republicans want to charge obama as an elitist because he worked hard and got scholarships to prestigious universities. mccain's daddy the admiral got him a slot at the military academy he attended. i don't know if it does any good to try to educate those die hard mccain supporters. look at the economy. just yesterday he was saying the fundamentals of the economy are sound. today he finally noticed the economy is broken. why folks think this fading old rich guy who betrayed his own values in an effort to become president should be president is beyond me.

  • I say, it doesn't matter if he has experience or not. It's what he will do in the future for our country that matters.

Oh and then, one topic that always gets me mad, is when McCain supporters are so sure he's going to be in there for at least 4 years, and they say, imagine what he can do in four years!, I go, "Look at Bush. Everyone loved him after his first four years. Then, look what happened after the second four. That's what can happen in four years. "

Then I go on this rant about, why they're voting for McCain, then if they bring up that Obama's a terrorist because he's from the Middle East ,I tell them, he doesn't even have any Middle Eastern ancestry. He's all European and African. :P

(I don't get your Palin question, sorry)

  • I have to respond to dayum: I do not ever want someone in the White

House experimenting with my Freedom. It is not a laboratory. It is

the pulse and heart of this Nation. My Son did not give his life for

this Obama man to experiment with this country's future. I did not

spend my 30 years in Federal and Socom formats to have some

empty suit experiment with this countrys safety. My oldest Son

who is on his 4th Tour in Afghanistan is not there so some Junior

Senator can experiment with the Worlds most powerful country.

This is the most dangerous period in American History, If the

Junior Senator from Ill wants to dance and kiss a lab rat, let

him do it in his Senate office, where he can continue to waste the

people of Ill Money and time.

  • I will take someone like Obama, who has much experiential learning any day over business as usual Mcsame Mcbush McCain Mr sit in the shade of the senate for 20 plus years. bush had much experience and look at the mess he has us in. McCain who has on record voted with bush 90 percent of the time offers bush politics as usual. Palin is a power hungry, insecure, power abusing individual who seeks only to motivate self. wickipedia will give u all the ammo u need on both those.

  • From what I have seen in this campaign, the only thing Obama's supporters can do is make fun of people and act like a bunch of brazen morons. I've been attacked by some people, physically and verbally...and if they think that is going to make me change my vote--FORGET IT.

Maybe you should offer Obama's supporters advice on how to respond in a respectful manner, rather than acting like a bunch of ******* volatile idiots. I am so sick of this election year I could ******* spit...and it's all thanks to the way some of these ******* people act.

Some of y'all act like you were raised in a ******* sewer.

  • But dude hes like a totally gooder speaker.

    LOL

    N O S O C I A L I S M 08!

    N O B A M A E V E R !

  • The good way to respond is not to respond at all. You see there is a difference in having a good argument, and just letting them believe what they want to. We all know that both candidates do not have a lot of experience, but seriously, I've stopped trying to argue my point across. They won't accept it, so its useless trying to defend yourself. The important thing is knowing what is true. When you know the truth, then you feel no need to defend your candidate. Politics is interesting but at the same time, you have to know when to let the other side go, and know for yourself what is true. Don't waste time arguing to a brick wall, because it won't hear you..

  • He just doesn't. It's true and hard to get around. You support people because you agree with their views and future plans. I would be careful with this one since you can't answer with any concrete contributions that have proven number/results.

  • Here on Y!A, they report the asker or the user instead of answering directly.

In the real world, not sure.. maybe they mug them, or hack theri emails who knows?
