maths problem?please help?

in sale normal prices are reduced y 25%

the sale price of a saw is £12.75

calculate the normal price of the saw.

someone please tell me how to work this out?

  • Simple algebra. .75x = 12.75. 12.75/.75 = 17. In other words, 75% of your sale price is 12.75. Solve for x.

  • 12.75 = 75% so divide 12.75 by 75 and multiply by 100 = 17.00
