ye i was throwing them at someone earlier and then they told me they had fleas in, not really sure whether this is true or just a way to stop me throwing them.
"As a child a common summer form of gladiatorial combat involved the throwing of ‘flea darts’ formed from the seedheads of wall barley (Hordeum murinum) which would catch in clothing and hair. The ‘flea’ element denoted the aphids that lived between the ears of the seedhead. In response to an attack the usual response was a plaintive cry of ‘flea darts injected’."
