How to export Indian mangos to Australia ?

I am based in Lucknow, India, the hub of 'dasehri', 'mahliabadi' and many other variety of mangos. So, how can these be exported to Australia, NZ mainly from here?

Most importantly, how to start to find a buyer in Australia, sitting here ?

Are there agencies in Aust. who would buy directly from me and retail them there ?

Where and how to market Indian mangos to Aust ?

  • Australia has developed a mango import policy with India. You will need to get export permits, and also ensure that the mangoes were correctly treated before leaving India to reduce the risk of insects and plant diseases entering Australia and infecting our own mango industry.

Contact the Australian High Commission in India first, details are on their website. They will probably give you contacts within the Australian Trade Commission (Austrade) who can give you more information on exporting fruit to Australia.

  • Mango Export From India

  • You do realize that Australia has its own Mango farms? In Qld there is an oversupply of Mangos and they more than supply Australias Mangos requirements. There is unlikely to be any need or market for imported mangos. Unless there is a need you will not be able to organise a business in this.

  • I have to agree with people here. We would buy our own produce before buying imports, plus you would have to battle with any extra imports from South East Asia.

I'm pretty sure Indians like the sweet mangoes like we do. South East Asians like the hard green sour mango, so most mangoes in Asian food markets are from Asia, but if you plan to export you are battling against the local type, and you wont win. Don't forget Northern Australia is tropical and has perfect climate for Mangoes, and I have to say they taste beautiful.

  • Have you ever tried Indian alphanso mangoes. Australian mangoes are nothing compared to that. Just try alphonso , kesar, badam types of. Mangoes and you will forget all fruits available to you....it s so so so tasty...even I would say if u travel only to taste mangoes to india, it will be worth of doing tht...and u can eat mango all the time....it s really tht tasty...I have tried all mangoes of Australia...Nope....Nope nope...mangoes are only from India taste best in the world...

  • ive by no ability been to India so i do no longer comprehend how solid the mangoes are from there. yet i comprehend the mangoes in Australia are rather up there! the jap purchase our mangoes in simple terms to take lower back to japan and that i bear in recommendations as quickly as I went Vietnam, everybody replaced into surprised on the size and style of australian mangoes.

  • I'm growing mango's in my backyard in Sydney. So why ship them in from India. It's like importing curry to India.

  • why would we buy indian mangoes when we have our own?,also they would have to be really special to be better than KENSINGTON PRIDE which are the best of all,i dont like your chances mate

  • these mangoes would probably end up on "Border Security" (the TV show). can't wait to see that episode :)
