Do you ever reply to email scams?

Like an email scam that sais like give us your social security number and we'll send you a billion dollars etc. Sometimes I reply to them in a smart alek way. My favorite is: Yea I'll do that, I'll send you my name, social security number, bank number, and all that stuff. Oh and by the way does this scam actually work?

  • never reply to them there might be a virus in the email and if you reply it lets them now the email address is active.

  • This scam does actually work on some idiotic people, but then I'm sure there isn't much money with them anyway.

I never reply to those. It's frustrating that they are so bold to keep doing this. I guess they can get away with it.

I would love to forward every email of these that I get right to the FBI.

I already know that I don't know anyone who is rich, overseas, and a stranger would never give me money.

  • Never reply to email scams.

They're not always "real" scams (oy, that sounds weird), but sometimes they're just spam (mails sent out hoping for a reply - ANY reply) - if you reply, you confirm that your email address isn't just an entry on a list - it's real.

  • sorry to much to read plus replying to scam just brings in more scam

  • i ignored the first 2. when they sent the 3rd one i replied back that if they ever emailed me again, i was going to hack their computer and take them down. they never emailed back again

  • its sad that they do actually work, but you shouldn't reply to them because it lets them know you account is active, which means they will send even more emails.
