Canidae or California Natural?

Which is a better dog food?

Comments

  • Canidae

  • California Natural. It's put out by Natura (same people who make Innova). Canidae is pretty good too, though.

  • ~ 100% California Natural.

Compare the ingredients. Canidae is a great food, if you want to do better than grocery store food and are on a budget, but the food goes up from Canidae as it is more of a mid grade.

Anything Natura makes is excellent quality (Innova, EVO, Karma, California Natural, Mother Nature treats) www.naturapet.com

In comparison to Purina or the others Canidae is worlds above!

ADD: Because of the rising cost of rice, Canidae is lowering it standards to "accommodate" the need of rice is how they put it in their lamb and rice formula. To me this is a cheap cop out and in other dog forums and discussion boards dogs are having adverse effects to the "new" formula with the lower quality grain ingredients.

  • All that I can tell you, is that I feed all of my dogs Canidae All Life Stages Dry. They love it, it's healthy for them, and have never had any problems with the food!

  • I use Canidae for my dogs they love it and have never had a problem with it.

  • Two sites will give you a lot of information on quality of dog foods. First is the mega class action concerning false advertising in dog and cat foods. Go here:

    http://hubpages.com/hub/Class_Action_Law_Suit_File...

The other lists most of the foods and rates them as to their quality. Go here:

These should answer most if not all of your concerns. The only thing it doesn't answer is if you make your own food for your pet.

    Good Luck

  • Personally, I feed raw and have for several years, but for people who prefer to feed kibble I recommend them choosing a 6 star food from http://www.dogfoodanalysis.com/dog_food_reviews/sh...
