Mac video converter?

Ok i have video files in .ASF format and i'm looking for a free video converter for my mac to convert to another video file so that I can watch them on my mac.

    I don't know of any free converters, but there is a free download that lets you play windows media files on a Mac (including .asf) within quicktime (no conversion required). It's called Flip4Mac WMV. You can get it here:

    If you really want to convert your files they do have an upgrade version (not free) that lets you convert asf files to other formats.

    Flip4Mac is only needed for viewing Windows Media online. It is a replacement for the now defunct Microsoft WMV-to-QuickTime plugin for Web browsers on Mac and routes the playback through Apple's QuickTime software. If you have ASF or any other Windows Media files on your hard drive, you can play them with the Windows Media Player for Mac, link below for free download, as long as the correct codecs are installed.
