Convert 15kg into litres?

What litre size kitchen bin do i need to buy for a 15kg bag of dog food?

  • If the biscuits were water, which they're NOT, then 15 litres is your answer. But since they are buoyant and partially empty, these biscuits will have a density less than water, and will probably occupy anything between 2 and 3 times the volume.

    To this end you need a 45 litre or 45 dm cubed container.

    The cube root of 45 is 3.557

    Since a decimetre is 10 cm, then the cube needs to be 35.6cm in each direction internally (or 14 inches if you prefer imperial measurements)

    The excess volume in this container allows for movement of content with minimal risk of spillage.

    Hope this helps.

  • 15 Kg Into Litres

  • kg is a unit of mass and litres a unit of volume. You cannot convert between different units!

  • There are two different units of measure so you cant compare them like that exactly

    Think of it like this...one litre of cotton wool is much less than a kilo of cotton wool

    Volume vs Weight

    I think you will need about a size 6-8L

  • ummm...

    1L= 980g Or 0.98Kg,

    in order to convert from Kg to L you must multiply the following:

    15Kg(1L/0.98Kg)...

    the unit Kg cancels out and you are left with 14.2 as an answer with Liters as units, which was what you were originally asking for.

    :]

  • we know that

    1lt = 980gm = 0.98kg

    therefore, 1kg = 1lt/ 0.98kg

    hence 15kg = 15kg*1lt/0.980kg

    = 14.02lt

    Hence 15kg is approximately 14.02lt

  • that depends on the density of the dog food. let us use water as a base. water, as we know, has a density of 1kg per liter. if the dog food floats on water, then its density must be less than that value, say 800 grams per liter. then you will need 12 liters kitchen bin.
