First disable system restore to prevent reinfection after cleansing;
1.Click Start, right-click My Computer, and then click Properties.
2.In the System Properties dialog box, click the System Restore tab.
3.Click to select the Turn off System Restore check box. Or, click to select the Turn off System Restore on all drives check box.
4.Click OK.
5.When you receive the following message, click Yes to confirm that you want to turn off System Restore:
You have chosen to turn off System Restore. If you continue, all existing restore points will be deleted, and you will not be able to track or undo changes to your computer.
Do you want to turn off System Restore?
After a few moments, the System Properties dialog box closes.
Then try an ONLINE virus scan here;
Trend Micro;
http://housecall.trendmicro.com/
and / or here,
Bitdefender;
http://www.bitdefender.com/scan8/ie.html
If this detects and removes the malware (it should) go ahead and reenable System Restore.
If that does not do it for some reason, you can obtain a free bootable cd image, that includes the ability to run an AV scan here,
Ultimate Boot CD;
http://www.ultimatebootcd.com/
you will need to burn this as an .iso / image file and ensure your BIOS is set to boot from CD, before hdd1.
Or you can create your own using any number of customized plugins, using Barts PE Builder;
http://www.nu2.nu/pebuilder/
Although a superior solution, this method (Barts PE) does require an intermediate amount of computer know how, as well as an original Windows XP installation CD, and a known clean (non-infected) system to build it on.
If you really want to format & Fdisk is not doing it for you, download and burn Gparted, for the ultimate in bootable, free, intuitive partition management;
Gparted;
http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles...
Good Luck
If thats an HP , the other drive is just a partition and you are not suppose to see the files, your computer just uses that partion if it got ruined and you need to use system recovery
Undo the last restoration. For further details, go to:
