What are some reasons that are against building a mosque on ground zero? What are some reason for opening a mosque on ground zero? And if you were writing a essay what would you make your thesis statment?

Understandably, the feelings of going against the idea comes from uncomfortable memories and conception that the site had relationship with terrorists. This is a touchy (sensitive) issue. Hatred can never be solved by hatred but by love and understanding. A true Muslim is a peace loving person. So also a Christian, Buddhist, Hindu, etc. Salam means Peace in Arabic. Lets be reminded that actually religions are good but men are misguided. Reasons for opening a mosque on ground zero may seem like a good idea but would not be sufficient to heal misconception between cultures and religions. But an interfaith based Mosque would be ideal and wise to build effective and lasting bridges of peace. Such initiatives should be properly done with networking with other experienced organizations in interfaith or universal peace activities. Then, building such noble center of peace would be good for not just Americans but the world. I hope Mr. President Obama and his advisers are reading this article.

We are citizens of same globe.
The blood that runs through our veins is red.
God is one and we are His children.
We still have a long way to go and such a journey of reconciliation starts with the first step.
Healing takes time, courage, initiatives and wisdom.
The conflicts must be resolved step by step with diplomacy.
Lets grow up and encourage such efforts to bring more understanding. I hope the mosque will be the first step in bringing harmony not just Muslims of the world but with other cultures too starting with three divided families/cultures of same ancestry Abraham and also embracing the whole world civilization. The mosque must open its arms to others and an interfaith department/unit/center must be integrated wisely and timely.

I believe in freedom if religion. So I support them. But I believe there are better places they could have put it.
