Why ulemaa(clerics) issue contradictory fatawa over a period of time?
300 years ago, when clocks and watches were invented; use of those devices for prayer times was not allowed per Fatwas of Ulamaas'.
2> 150 years ago, translating Quraan in any other language was considered a taboo, and was not allowed per Fatwas by Ulamaas of that time.
3> 100 years ago, in India, calculated Prayer Times were not acceptable per Fatwas by Ulamaas of that time.
4> 60 years ago, loud speakers use for Prayers was considered Haraam, per Fatwas by Ulamaas in Indo-Pak.
5> 50 years ago, taking picture for ID or passports was considered Haraam, per Fatwas by Ulamaas in Indo-Pak.
6> Telephone first introduced to King Faisal in Saudi Arabia was announced Haraam due to human voice and later accepted as Halaal due to listening Recitation of the Quraan through it for demonstration.
7> Vote to elect a candidate in election were initially declared Haraam and later accepted.
Do they want to have a hold on public or expect cash for favorable
fatawa?
Update:Holy Quran has warned Muslims for making their priests their god. Prophet Muhammad SAW has informed us that we will
make the same mistakes like earlier nations.
Therefore I thought it fit to warn fellow Muslims about blindly believing a fatwa. Check it with Quran and relevant hadiths and
then only accept a fatwa.
May Allah guide us all.
Thank you brother Arqam for your nice opinion about me.

yes Javed they expect much manys cash and seek many times to hold public now there you go taking good rest pops after you be think up such complex type question with details of clock history
Some of that is okay.
When a scientific article is first published in a journal....its not true...its just a study done and findings published with an initial analysis. In the next edition....someone refutes the findings.....confirms the findings.....points out analytical falicies...experimental errors....etc. In the next edition after that....the original author might mount a defense of his work...accept refutation....etc
The guy will go and give a lecture about his research at sea sort of forum....people will ask questions....show approval...disagree....its years before it becomes accepted or fully abandoned. Some people do nothing but try to refute a scientific theory....if they are wrong...its a win still because that in itself validates it.
Fatwas are the same....other scholars should come and dispute them....confirm them....etc. There should be a debate.
Although some of this should be done prior to the initial ruling is made public. The original person should be open to the idea he made a mistake.....he should personally redact his ruling. There needs to be a priority in coming to the correct conclusion.
There is less than 1% of the population that does not have the mental ability to validate a fatwah...check its sources...its logic...the credibility of the scholar.....but about 90% of the population is too lazy to do that. Even though its the fault of the people...the scholars need to take the reposnibility of having the debate with the right circle of other scholars before making it public. They should also point out the " clerics," who have no formal education, as unreliable.
2> I investigated the Arab ulama regarding the translation of the Quran and they said as long as its called the translation of the tafseer of the Quran as it is impossible to create another Quran in another language !

Well, i think not. Every Mufty must have knoweledge of two things: the worldly matter and the evidence in hand. For example, some scholars like Al-Albani and Ibn-Baz wrote a fatwa that taking photos from a camera is haram. Well, after years, scholars found that cameras are just reflecting what is in reality just like a mirror and the reflection of water. So, it means that these scholars who forwarded the fatwas were just making egtihad.
ummm, Ibn bazz also said that the sun rotates around the earth!! That is because he mistakenly understood a text ! I think we should be careful before issuing any fatwas. Ibn taimiah whenever someone asked him something regarding the deen, he often rejects to answer to discuss it with other scholars even if it was a small issue. That is because fatwas are just not simple as that !
@Majeed:
sheik majeed, someone cloned mr. Javad.
mr.javad is a very respectful man and never insult anybody.
The Ulemaa has always made contradictory fatwas
Nothing new here, fatwas are usually driven by Islamic agenda
Peace
There are ridiculous and unnecessary fatwas that go against islam
Fatwas written by Muslim scholars never affect lives of apostates living in west. Then why you keep ranting and lying for no effect on others.
they confused the concept of bidda (innovation in Islam) with social and electronic innovation.
