gmc serria steering prob?

94 gmc serria 2500 2wd 5.7 yadada

the truck has a 1/4 turn loose spot in steering and it darts over 80k an hour in this loose spot need to make HUGE corrections to keep the truck going straight pitman arm? tie rod?

HELP BEFORE IT KILLS ME LOL

    Check idler arm first. Get a floor jack, one big enough to lift entire front end up, both front tires.

    Grab one of the front tires and check for play. Have another person turn steering wheel back and forth while looking for slack.

    which is most likey ball joint or control arms but all easy to check even replace sometimes even easier take to shop have front end check
