faulty o2 sensor? or vacuum leak?

I have a Ford Contour 98' I was having issues and found a major hole in a hose (crankcase ventilation shaft hose) and replaced ii but every now and then I will be driving on a straight stretch and it will feel as tho my horsepower sorta drops off or i hit ice then it kicks. This was the original problem with the vacuum hose but my check engine light is on for the upstream o2 sensor. I was wondering if this could be a false reading because of a vacuum leak or if it is most likely the o2 sensor?

    The air leak can kick up a code when the O2 sensor reads an odd value, but the O2 sensors by themselves don't cause the vehicle to run badly or anything. An air leak can though.
