I was wondering do you have to be registered domestic partners in Nevada in order to file taxes together we are not yet registered but we've been together for six years
Nevada does not recognize common law marriage, so you cannot file MFJ.
If you have an RDP, you would split the income equally onto each single return.
Edit, Tro is one of many states with an RDP. It's also a community property state and fully covered in IRS publication 555. I am not surprised that you haven't read that publication.
