A problem of printer?

My printer worked very smoothly as expected but it suddently prints very very slow, I tried and checked all set up of the printer and everything looks normal. Unfortunately, its printing is still very slow.

Any one who can help me by telling me what's wrong and how to correct this problem. Thanks very much

Update:

I forgot to say that my printer is a Dot Matrix printer and I would like to add to me recent question of problem of slow printing. Thanks

  • It could be a number of things, it could be that you are printing on a higher quality setting which will slow things down.

It could be that the cable you are using is degrading and not transferring data as rapidly as it should.

Finally, it could be that your printer has a spooling issue

  • Does the printer print a swath, then wait 10-15 seconds before the next swath? If so then one of the cartrdiges may have failed. To troubleshoot this remove one of the cartrdiges and try printing in reserve mode. If this prints at near normal speeds then the cartrdige you removed will need to be replaced. If the printer is still very slow then replace the original cartrdige and remove the other cartrdige. If this prints at normal speed then the cartrdige you have now removed is at fault.

(Note: when printing text in reserve mode with only a color cartrdige installed the printing will be somewhat slower than normal, but not very slow.)

  • If it is vista:

Please click on Windows>>Controlpanel>>Hardware and sounds or printers folder

Please right click on the printer icon and select properties then please click on advanced tab and then select the option print directly to printer option and then click on.

Then try printing and check for the result.

If the issue persists we need to increase the virtual memory of the computer.
