But I'm just wondering, how do you get Mac OS X 10.4.8?
Do you download it? Or, buy it or something?

If you want the actual system 10.4, you can pick up a cheap copy on ebay for like $10 then update o 10.4.8 http://shop.ebay.com/?_from=R40&_trksid=p4712.m38....
If you have 10.4 already and just want the update to 10.4.8, just click the Apple icon on the top left hand of the screen and click "Software Update.." Its a free download upgrade all the way from 10.4 to 10.4.8
