Ram + Toshiba Tecra 8100 problem?
I have a toshiba tecra 8100 and it has 256 RAM, but i wanted to make it higher and now it just has the 256 RAM, but now when I turn it on it doesn't work, the screen is black and if I try turning it off it will do some sort of a countdown tye sound...HELP PLEASE???

What do you mean you wanted to make is higher and now it just has the 256mb ram? Did you stick in new ram and then pull it out? Make sure you re-secured the ram properly. And make sure you bought compatible ram, I have that same laptop, it must be PC100, it will not take anything else. And what is a "countdown type sound?"
So did you try to add new RAM or what? If you were just thinking about upgrading ram then it may have nothing to do withy our problem..
Maybe you didn't put in the original ram correctly if you touched it.
Give the Toshiba up, this is probably your start to many problems ....
