I have two cats, a male named Isaiah and a female named Persia. When I leave the house, Isaiah is at the door waiting for my return. Persia is only there at the door if she's hungry. Isaiah is near me, 24/7. I only see Persia when she's hungry, or maybe about 5 minutes out of a month if she wants me to pet her. When Persia is full, she either goes back to wherever she hides during the day, or on my tallest book shelf, while Isaiah, after he has eaten, continues to follow me wherever I am in my home. If i'm taking a nap, he is either cuddled under my right arm, or on the same pillow I'm on, or if I'm soaking in the tub, he is stretched out on the ledge, watching me, or if I'm on the computer, he is on the desk, stretched out, on top of books, watching me, with his paws, resting on whatever part of my arm or hand that he can touch.Even if I'm in the laundry room, he is on my folding shelf, watching me. I know that Isaiah loves me. Persia? Well, that's another question.
I can assure you that if a cat does now love you, it will leave home and find somebody else. Always remember "you DO NOT own a cat" the cat owns you.
I have taken in more cats than enough, and everyone of them has had a home.Luckily I have found out where they live and have told the owners where they are. The last cat I took in was 29 years old, and I had to have him put to sleep, and believe me he was a little monkey, he even bit me, but he would not leave home.
Try playing with him, cats like their own space but they also like lots of loving,.
By the way I have had dogs as well.
Cats, unlike dogs, don't tend to see us as their owner and love us like humans. They think of us more as their room mate. If you feed, pet and play with them and don't annoy them then they can definitely like and appreciate you a lot.. rubbing against you, purring, raising their tail on approach to you, choosing to sleep on or beside you are the main signs that they feel happy enough in your company. As long as your cat is not running away from you when you are near or scratches you (on purpose, not during play fights) then it's all good!
Yes they use body language and also put their friendly pheromones on you ... by Pawing and also rubbing their face on you. They also use visual cues (Body language) Tail up straight and the very tip of the tail rolling around (means they like you and probably want attention) and they squint their eyes at you when they ADORE (love) you. If they are comfortable in the environment they will tuck and fold both front legs under them, If they are extremely comfortable in their surroundings they will sprawl upside down and stretch out. (I'm so loved and safe here). So try squinting at your cat when he looks at you and see what happens
i know both my cats love me, because the one, he sleeps next to me, even in bed, he will crawl under the duvet and sleep with his face tucked into mine and his paw over me (spoiled i know!!) he purrs into my ear and drools down my neck, he meows at 6am every morning for his food and 4.30pm on the dot! when im upset, crying he sits on my lap.
The other cat isnt quite as intimate as him but she does show me her affection by bringing me in dead mice and birds every now and then, or pawing my jumper when she wants some loving, and sniff my face when im upset and the other cat hasnt got to me first! and her whole body language the way she moves her tail and everything.
i think my cats love me a lot lol!
It's a cat, it only loves itself, you are there to serve it and see to it's every need. If a cat decides to stay with you then that is it's expression of love, your's is the best place to be because if it found anywhere it liked better it would go there.
They purr when you stroke them, they nudge you with their head, they paw the sofa/bed etc when you stroke them. Sometimes they look at you with love too. They might have a reputation as independent, unaffectionate creatures, but I've got 3 cats, and they all show love in different ways.
When I lay down on the couch he comes over and curls up on my chest, when I come home from work after being gone all day he is waiting for me at the door and follows me around meowing until I pick him up and pet him, Same thing in the morning when I wake up, he follows me around my apartment and won't stop meowing until I pick him up.
My cat sleeps in my mothers bed when i am working late, when she hears my key in the door she comes to meet me at the door, where she meows and meows at me until i pick her up and give her a cuddle, this is how i know my cat loves me, if she hears my brother come in before me she goes back into my mother and waits for me to come home.
My cat is only 8 months old and he is already bringing in dead animals or i thought one day he brought in a black bird and it was still alive. Cats do this to show appreciation to there owner, also he dont let me play my ps2 when he wants attention he nudges my face paws at my mouth and bites my fingers. i call him Hitler!
