Is now a good time to travel from Missouri to Minnesota by car?

I've never been to Minnesota and just wondering if this time of year is safe to travel via car?

  • Its cold and its been snowing. Check the weather before you come so you don't get caught in a storm. The major highways are not bad so long as all the snow has been plowed off, but there might be lingering ice patches, so a little caution is advised.

  • This week (in MN) we have been getting a lot of snow. Make sure and check the current weather & forcast before you leave.

If you give the plows enough time to clear the snow, the roads are fine. They put down enough gravel & salt on the roads to keep them clear for a little while.

  • If I were going to Minnesota I would do it in the summer to enjoy all the lakes. You will be heading into some winter storms otherwise.

  • I would say no, the snow. But if you are a safe driver and are comfortable driving in it. Then Best of luck!

  • It's a better time now then in the middle of winter.

  • I'm not sure. . .all of the snow up there with the hills and winding roads may be risky.

  • NO...its snowing/going to snow and they have more then they need at the moment

  • no it's snowing badly there
