is gas a common side affect of pregnancy?

  • Oh yeah.

Your body chemistry is changing, and hormone levels are changing along with just about everything else in your body.

When we're NOT pregnant, without that extra physical pressure from the baby, a good amount of that gas escapes unnoticed, but that growing and moving baby pushes the gas out with a little more force than "normal".

    Fun times!

  • Yes! I am nearly 10 weeks and my behind is unbelievable!

its very uncomfortable because i try and hold it in until im in another room but bloody hell!

It never affected me before the pregnancy as im not a gassy person, but since 8 weeks or so, its been horrid!

  • Yes!

It gets really fun when you can't control it and end up passing gas in really embarrassing times and places (like in the middle of a meeting with your boss's boss. Yep, did that yesterday)

  • Yes!! Especially in the later months--it can be quite embarassing. I didn't get it so bad with my first pregnancy, but with this one it's been terrible! Good luck!

  • Yes, the gas and bloating is awful. I wish someone would have warned me also, it was a shock.

  • Augh how scary!! How come no one told me about this?? Im doomed..
