NYU, no math 12 grade?
I'm in tenth grade right now, and my dream college is NYU. As of now, my unweighted average is about a 94 (sorry, don;t know what that is on 4 pt) and I'm in all honors classes-Math, History, Science, English, and Italian. Next year I will be in regular math but then AP english. For 12th, I do not plan on taking math. I do plan on taking AP English and Italian, however, in 12th. My passion is english, I want to be a writer and as of now the majority, if not all of my electives have been english. Will not taking math in 12th totally kill my NYU dreams?

this site shows what colleges require and what is suggested for applicants.
A lot of colleges really like it when you show a passion for a certain subject. If you decide not to take math your 12 grade year you may want to consdier doubling up on English classes to show how interested you are in the subject.
Another suggestion would be to take a summer school math class, ideally at your local community college.
Also in your essays for NYU you will be given the oppurtunity to explain different aspects of your academic career. This will give you the space to convince them that English is your thing.
Good luck and if you really want to go to NYU I suggest looking into financial aid NOW. Not next year, this was the biggest mistake of my life.
Personally, I would take the four years, generally that is recommended by all colleges, including NYU. The core college prep courses, math, science, english, etc. are important, even if they don't relate at all to future occupation. Once you get into college, you will be able to study English till your hearts content.
Everything looks good, the 3.6 is questionable, aren't AP classes on a 5 point scale? But other than that everything looks really good. NYU is looking for a diverse range of students from all demographics, and it I see no reason for you not to be accepted. Good luck!!
Nope. My friend got accepted to NYU and he hasn't taken math since January of 11th grade. Keep your GPA high and stay involved in school and the community and you shouldn't have a problem getting in.
