How do you remove the spark plug wires from the spark plug it has a little metal shield around it does it come out with the wire? its a 02 silverado 5.3l
ram air is right that heat shield is bolted to the manifold or the head and RAMAIR is right about another thing real Pontiac's don't have Chevy engines.

Thats just a heat sheild, dont worrie about it, it should stay on when you pull them out.
