Upgrade CPU or GPU?
I have an Intel G3258 overclocked to 4.4ghz, and an AMD R7 260X graphics card.
I have between £250 and £300 for an upgrade and was wondering which one I'm best upgrading first, and any suggestions what I should upgrade to

I'd choose a CPU upgrade over a GPU upgrade.
You will have a CPU bottleneck, but your gaming experience would be much better with:
i5 4690K+1060 (if you plan to OCing the i5 4690K will require a new Z97 or if its H81 or above chipsets you need i5 4690 becoz the CPUs not OCable. when the Pascal released GTX 1060 will improve your FPS more in most situations.)
If you kept the R7 260X your current GPU pair with a i5 4690K will give you good enough to run the majority of the latest games at Med to High settings with 900p/768p without any slowdown or lag..https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=i5++r...
What kind of power supply do you have? The power supply matters because GPU can be power hungry and you do NOT want to be running anything half decent of a cheap power supply like non 80+ certified..any 500W in 80+ is okay.wait until pascal relesed we will see what PSU will require, then you could upgrade it and Pascal wont be coming out until Q3-Q4 of this year at its earliest.
Note :
Save up for i5 4690K with Z97 and with that current GPU the game will run fine until you get the new card.
It's a good CPU, for last generation games, DirectX 11 or earlier. Next generation games will require at least 4 cores or more, under DirectX 12.
You're GPU might be limiting you under DX11, but it's going to be an awesome card for DX12 (as long as you have at least a quad core). DX12 brings out new life in older, slower GPU's.
So you really have to decide if you're going to go with next generation games, then that GPU is fine, and you should upgrade that CPU. If you're mainly playing last generation games, then that last gen CPU is fine, and you really need to upgrade to faster GPU.
Unless you know your processor is limiting you, upgrade the graphics card. You can get an R9 390 which is a high-end card capable of maxing just about every game at 1080p and doing awesome at 1440p too.
Upgrade the gpu. I would advise you wait for pascal or polaris.
Bro get an AMD FX-8350 8 core 4ghz stock and around 180$
