Its not only about the politicians. Everyone from police to a government employee are involved in corruption. The reason behind this is that people of India support corruption one way or the other.
You might have seen these people protesting against corruption recently in the capital.
But even those people would prefer to give a cop rs 50 rather than paying a legitimate fine, which is usually much larger.
These cops and politicians are common people like us who have join these fields.
Today a common man in india would take any chance to earn money even if it involves corruption.
So to remove this problem of corruption we have to get to its roots, and start from our own home and teach our children some lessons of ethics and morality.
I am from India and so I understand the problem very well. There is lots of corruption in government department. Because there is no effective and efficient law on this matter. Even the investigation bodies like CBI etc are under the control of government. The legal procedures are very slow. courts nearly takes 20 to 30 years for giving their decisions. In short, in India politicians runs the government for their own benefits but by using the public funds. Our finance minister, instead of controlling the frauds and misappropriation of public money, he increases the tax burden.
